Strata is defined as a layer of a series of layers of rocks in the ground which reflect and represent the complex layers that exist in all of us. At Strata we aim to provide a supportive space to investigate these layers and better understand how they affect our lived experience today.
Strata psychology provides a comfortable space for self-exploration. Offering counselling to individuals and couples as a private practice as well as virtual sessions online. We are an inclusive practice, and welcome clients from all backgrounds.

Meet Mandy
Mandy Smith-Haber, MACP
Registered Psychologist
Mandy works with you to understand your unique story and delivers supportive therapy tailored to your needs. She meets you where you are and works towards your goals and what is important to you.
Mandy was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and has been involved in the greater Calgary community throughout her life. She has always had a passion to advocate for those who do not have a voice and has been drawn to professions that help others.
Mandy has extensive volunteer experience and believes that giving back is vital in one’s life. She has sat on the boards of a variety of non-profit organizations that range in interests within the community.
In her down time, Mandy enjoys staying physically active through weight-lifting, running, walking, boxing, yoga, hiking, and taking time to enjoy the vast outdoors of Alberta with her children and family dog. She also enjoys reading, music (a live show when possible or a great vinyl), board games, cooking, gardening, theater, and drawing.
Strata is Mandy's platform to impact people’s lives. Her empathic, authentic, and caring approach means that she takes the time to truly know people by listening and seeing them in a genuine way. Mandy is focused on providing a supportive space that unearths possibilities for a more authentic life.
A process oriented therapist, Mandy utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches and tools, and selects the right combination based on the individual needs of her clients. She has training in and clinical experience utilizing CBT. ACT, narrative therapy, mindfulness, hypnosis, trauma informed therapy, solution focused therapy, couples therapy, family systems, FIT, and group therapy.
With her clients, she co-creates a therapeutic plan to best address the client’s concerns and work collaboratively towards their goals.
